Beautiful YouTube personality Kai Kai recently posted a YouTube video about Amara La Negra's struggles with Colorism as she attempts to break into the North American music market. After hearing what she had to say about Amara, I had to invite her to call into the show. Amara exposed the ramped colorism and discrimination she has personally faced in the Dominican Republic, including but not limited to music produces claiming her natural Afro hair is not, "elegant" to being denied moral, decent acting roles in cinema.
Despite overwhelming love, open arm acceptance, praise and down right worship from most Black Americans, a handful of black public figures (most notable KiD Organic and Kai Kai)
have expressed concerns and at times downright condemnation of Amara, stating she is nothing but a fake Afro wearing user who is simply playing on the emotions and insecurities of black Americans and wants to financially capitalize off of black Americans.
